Our residential conveyancing fees are fixed fees which cover all of the legal work required to complete the sale or the purchase of your home, including dealing with the registration of the property at the Land Registry, dealing with the payment of Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) and all other associated and necessary post-completion requirements.
In addition to our legal fees, there are additional costs and disbursements which will be incurred as part of the conveyancing transaction, whether you are buying or selling, and these are listed below. Disbursements are costs related to your matter which are payable to a third party, e.g. Land Registry fees. It is important to note however that not all additional costs and disbursements will be relevant to every transaction.
VAT is currently charged at a rate of 20%.
How long it takes for your sale or purchase to complete can depend on several factors but on average a conveyancing transaction can take between 8-12 weeks to complete.
